What the Critics Say

A host of capability-enhancing features are available to help buyers curate their Wrangler exactly to their desired specification. Its broad range of models and features, as well as its reputation for conquering trails, means the Wrangler has what it takes to compete with rivals such as the Toyota 4Runner and the resurrected Ford Bronco.” — Car and Driver
We can’t think of a more capable or iconic vehicle than the Jeep Wrangler. Want to cruise down by the beach or traverse a rugged trail? There’s a Wrangler for you. Although Jeeps haven’t changed that much in the grand scheme of things, their continued evolution means the current Wrangler offers more creature comforts and usability than ever before.” — Edmunds

What’s New for 2023

For 2023, Jeep has introduced the Freedom Edition. Essentially an appearance package for the Sport S trim, it adds a military-themed look to the Wrangler. It is also only available for a limited time. Apart from that, changes have been minimal. There are two new paint colors, and both of them are puns. The first is a shade of gray called Earl, as in Earl Gray tea. Then there is Reign, which is purple, a nod to Prince’s “Purple Rain.”

Jeep Wrangler Features

Jeep Wrangler Performance

Capable Performance

Go-anywhere performance capabilities have remained a strength of the Jeep Wrangler ever since its inception. Standard power comes in the form of a venerable 3.6L Pentastar V6 producing 285 horsepower paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. Drivers can also upgrade to an available 2.0L turbo I4 paired with eTorque technology for enhanced efficiency. This same eTorque technology can be equipped with the 3.6L V6 as well in addition to a responsive 8-speed automatic transmission. For maximum low-end grunt, choose the optional 3.0L EcoDiesel to receive an impressive 442 lb-ft of torque. Ready to experience unparalleled efficiency and blistering performance? Wrangler 4xe models are powered by a sophisticated 2.0L I4 DOHC direct-injection Turbo Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) setup that delivers 375 horsepower along with 22 miles of all-electric range. Topping the Wrangler lineup is the 392 6.4L V8 HEMI® that cranks out a muscular 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

Jeep Wrangler Off-Road Capability

Off-Road Excellence

When the asphalt turns to dirt, the Jeep Wrangler offers capability and control that simply cannot be matched by any other SUV. Selec-Speed® Control helps manage speeds up to 5MPH in 4-LO, helping you focus your attention on avoiding tricky obstacles while your Wrangler does the rest. Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC) work in tandem to help you handle steep hills with confidence. Standard underbody skid plates provide an extra layer of protection when traveling over rough terrain. Tow hooks located at both the front and rear of the Wrangler help you provide assistance to other vehicles on the trail. Available Tru-Lok® Electronic-Locking Differentials located at both the front and rear of the Wrangler deliver the ultimate in 4WD traction. Paired with a dedicated Off-Road+ drive setting and front sway bar disconnect system, the Wranger is ready for whatever challenge stands in your way.

Jeep Wrangler Interior

Adventure-Ready Interior

Perfectly balancing form and function, the cabin of the Jeep Wrangler is the ideal way to escape the wilderness and stay connected to your social circle. Infused with timeless Jeep design elements like rounded vents and a single-bar dashboard, the Wrangler offers a number of amenities to help you stay comfortable. Examples include a Remote Start System, Heated Front Seats and Steering Wheel, Nappa Leather-Trimmed Upholstery, and an Alpine® Premium Sound System to provide the right soundtrack for your journey. Fully customizable, the fourth-generation Uconnect infotainment system seamlessly integrates with the Jeep App on your mobile device. From there, you can remotely monitor key vehicle information, start the vehicle, track activity, and much more all with the touch of a button.

Cutting-Edge Safety

Boasting over 80 standard and available safety & security features, the Jeep Wrangler delivers outstanding confidence and peace of mind behind the wheel. Built with high-strength steel and lightweight aluminum, the Wrangler chassis delivers exceptional crash-worthiness.
